  Scary21 I know where you are coming from. Before we moved to PA my mom mind was going to the point she was very vlolent towards my wife. I went to the elders of this same congregation hoping to get help by having them talk to my mom to go to the doctor to get help and to listen to her son about this matter. The body of elders told me it was none of their business and would not help in any way. Soon instead of taking care of her a sister took her side and did things for her. I called my older brother about all this he came down to see what he could do. When I told him what mom was doing at first he did not believe me it took about a year to finally understand what was really going on. But by then he took over the responsibilty of taking care of her. She is now in stage three dementia and going fast and finally in a nursing home. She fell about a month ago and broke her hip. I blame again those elders for enabling my mom and ignoring my concerns. In fact at first they believe her. She was accusing my wife of stealing all her money from the bank and she was having orgies in her living room. They believe that at first. I quess this is the second reason I will never go back. Elders running things with nothing more than there pea brains for reasons. Any rate I am sorry for what you had to go through. JW's for the most part have no idea what love is. Still Totally ADD

  Just remember something. After the furneral one person did come up to me and wanted to know if my oldest son was still in the truth because he had a goatee. That was more important to him that our loss. Still Totally ADD

  In 1995 we took in a Brother into our home who had MS. He lived with us for almost 15 years. For many of those years with our help he was able to go to all the meetings and assemblies and field service. He was wheel chair bound. As the years went by because of his MS he got weaker and weaker. So his care became even more harder. He was 5 years older than us but our relationship with him became very close where he called us Mom and Dad. His life was in our hands the last two years of his life. He had become bed ridden and on a venterlaor. My wife the primary care giver learned how to do the things it took to keep him alive. As his doctor told us many times we was running a intensive care unit in our house for his well being. He became to us as a child we dearly loved. The two years before he died it was my wife who would stay home to take care of him while I would go to the meetings. At this point it was 24/7 in his care. If see was not home I was. If I was outside she was inside. He could not be left alone. But when it came to meetings or service my wife was the principle care giver. At the meetings some would ask me how she was doing or out was the brother we was taking care of doing. I would always tell them find but why don't you come out and visit for awhile. He would love to see you. He was a people person. He loved being around people. But no one would come out. At elder meetings I would beg for my fellow elders to come out for a visit but none would come. When I asked them why the excuse they gave me was service got in the way or this happen at the hall. But the biggest excuse they gave was they did not like coming out to see him because they could not understand him or hear him. The MS had taken his voice away. We even had trouble understanding him. I would tell them please come out anyway he would just love to see you. You could do all the talking. No one. When the CO was in town maybe just maybe he would come out and see him. Even though my eyes was open to what the WT was and my wife and I was working on getting out this action by my so called friends made me very angry and upset. One day our dear friend died in our arms at home. We was in deep shock. And what happen only and I mean only One Elder came out to see us. I was furious. So we made arrangement for his furneral. Many poeple who knew him and us told me they would not be there. Why because there was the Dist. Convention that weekend. Even my brother told me that. I was heart broken. I saw the lack of love and could not believe it. During the furneral and after not one I mean not one person came up to us at the Kingdom Hall to tell us how sorry they was for our loss in losing a good friend. Actually many was befuddled on why we was so hurt. To us it was like lossing a child. Some did say to us will now that he is dead you can come back to all the meetings and field service. Like he meant nothing to us. If I had any doubts about the Wt. cult they was all gone. I will never forget the lack of love shown to us. Except by all the so called worldly people. All the nurses and social workers who came to the furneral. My wives so called worldly relatives also help out alot even by bring some food over to us and listening to us and consoling us. Not one so called witness friend did this. It was so baltant there lack of love.

  I have been wanting to tell this story for many years now. Now that I got it off my chest I can now put this to rest. When the Wt. cult talks about love. The only love they know how to show is how much money do you have to give or how many hours did you spend in field service. When it comes to basic human love and relationships they do not have a clue. Thanks for listening I hope this help any who are on the fence. Still Totally ADD

  Do athiests believe it's possible that aliens, not all powerful God created man?

  i've sort of mentioned this as a different possibility in response to other threads but i was curious if any of you athiests all think that life just evolved on this earth from single cell organisms or if you ever thought it's possible that intelligent life long ago w/ advanced science could have made humans and much of life on earth and just dumped it here or made it here.

  i'm not making this thread to debate, i am just curious if any of you have come up with other ideas on your own as possibilities since all we have for the origin of life are just theories right now.

  Speaking as one who is a athiests. I think it is fun to think that people from another planet came hear 10's of 1000's of years ago and started the human race but there is now proof. Just as there is no proof there is a god. For those who are athiest all they asked for is proof and with that proof they will decide what to believe. Still Totally ADD

  Welcome goUnion. Take your time on everything you do. Learning the TATT takes time and deep thinking. All of us here have gone though this process and really still going through it. When I started reading COC I said to myself if I find one lie in this book I will go not leave the Wt. Guess what? I am out of the cult. Any rate it's great you have waken up.   How's the weather in your area?

  here in nc it's snowing, about 6" so far.

  haven't had so much snow and ice in a long time as we have so far this winter.. ken p..

  We live near Erie PA. They have been declared the snowest city this year. I think they have had 130 inches plus of snow this year. There normal snow fall is 80 something inches. Still alot. We have had 100 inches of snow, 26 days below 0, 6 of them minus 20 to 26 degrees and far to many minus 10 to minus 16. Here it is the 8th of March and it's snowing outside and this coming Wed. and Thurs. they are talking about a snow storm. Can't wait until spring comes so it can get up above 32 degrees. LOL Still Totally ADD

  Has a critical mass of exJWs been reached?

  it took the better part of 15 years but i believe we have finally arrived at that point where there is now a critical mass of former witnesses.. thousands of exjws come together on forums like this one and discuss findings, ideas and research.

  there have been documentaries and even a movie made about life in the jehovah's witnesses.. ex jw websites, online forums, and discussion boards that set the wheels in motion in the early to late 90s have matured into powerful tools of social change within the organization.. the lies and false doctines taught by the watchtower bible & tract society are plainly accessible with just a cursory google search.. active elders leak boe letters, often weeks before they hit the notice board in a kingdom hall.. social media has allowed exjws to connect with those still in as well as those who have left.. the society have no game plan because information is power and they have lost the information war.

  all they can do is cry wolf and warn the rank and file not to listen to apostates.. i don't know what future the society will face in the next ten years, but changing world events, social trends, and reactionary change from headquarters based on their own faulty biblical chronology has got them cornered like a raging animal.. it doesn't look good..

  Religion as a whole is crazy in their thinking and teachings. So what makes Wt. teaching any diffrent. People who have to have religion will stream to the Wt. teaching because they are not happy with their crazy religion. So they just replace one crazy religion or another. My wife and I have given serveral talks to groups on the Wt. and what we have found out most don't even know how dangerous the Wt. cult is. Most of these poeple we have talk to don't believe in the bible or a god. So why do you think those that do believe in god and belong to a religious group that is as crazy as the Wt. would know anything about the Wt. cult? To them it all sounds good and makes sense.   Terry it makes sense to me. I have always thought when it came to Wt. teachings they was trying to make you deviod of any human feelings. Weather sexually or otherwise. You could never be good enough. I always said it was like wearing a white suit and then jumping inti a septic tank at the same time being told you can not let your white suit get dirty. In other words its impossible to do unless you become a robot with not feelings. Great observation. Still Totally ADD
